Notice that a lot of parts have changed and it has really cleaned up a bit! There are still parts I'm not completely happy with but overall I think I like it a lot. Plus Crowrang is just so damned sexy, ahaha.
I also though I will make a post about my roach character, essentially what you'd call my 'fursona,' I guess, though he's not hairy... but I guess he's in a way a 'sona of me. Essentially though I designed him both to be like me but also to be hawtness. Isn't that what you're supposed to do...?
The intro post has the standard avatar-ish picture I use everywhere of him :3 Elsewise, here's some other art of him:
This is the original sketch I did of him to see what he would look like. There are some important features:
- He is based on various bug and monster characters I've seen from some of my favorite artists.
- The species he is mostly based on is Periplaneta americana, or the common American house roach.
- He is bulky. I made him this way for many reasons. One is that since he's a projection of myself, I am often self-conscious of my size, but I also like my size. Of course IRL I am a chubby guy, so I tried to incorporate this into him through his large/bulbous abdomen parts. Roaches also are infamous to be resistant to lots of things, so I made his exoskeleton big and armor-like. Lastly, I just think bulky characters are sexy :3
- He has a very "feral" head. I did this because I think bug/arthropod faces are very cute, plus I didn't want him to have a human-looking head because I thought it would look awkward. I also thought it would be a drawing challenge. I've come up with a sort of simplified mouth parts that are still based on real roach faces :)
- His colors are not my favorites. They are supposed to be based on the actual colors of his species. Of course it's somewhat loose -- I made them in colors that I often work with (a more 'kitschy' pallet), but those are generally colors that you find on a real roachie :)
- With his more feral-legs and human like double-arms, he has a total of 6 limbs like a real insect :D I have seen a lot of bug-based anthro characters with the standard human set (two arms, two legs), but I've also seen some with a total of 6 like this. I definitely wanted 6 because I wanted him to be more bug-like, but also because I think you can do sexier things with 4 hands rather than 2 ;)
- Important accessories are mustache and necktie. Of course I draw him with tea a lot, but it's not like he can just constantly hold a mug. The mustache is not fake, in my fantasy world he really grows it :) Also he takes very good care of it and it's well groomed (like my 'stache IRL, too XZD) He almost always wears a necktie. Even to sleep. o_o; This is both supportive of my necktie fetish, but also it has a lot of emo meaning behind it that I won't get into. That's just for me.
As far as personality goes, he is a character I use both to express and entertain myself, and so his personality is just mine. I don't make up interesting personalities for him or anything, as he's not really a character I'm trying to develop, but an actual avatar of myself, I guess.
Anywhere, here are some more drawings:
Of course, pronsy one :D
After this picture was done, I noticed you couldn't see the roach peen I designed very well :( It actually had a lot more detail in the sketching stage. But I'm still kinda working on the design for what it should look like, but I think I have a good idea. It kinda is just based on monsters and stuff, as bugs don't really have penises or anything. Well, they have parts, but nothing like this, so I get to make it up myself. It's pretty different from other bug characters I've seen, though. But it does share some similarities.
I wanted to make it non-human shape because I felt that human-shape would look terribly awkward. TBQH I am not particularly sexually attracted to the design or anything, but I do like the way it looks. Also it comes to kindof a point, and that's where the hole is. It's a bit weird, I know. It kindof reminds me of a cake decorator >_>
Also I forgot to mention before that he has head hair, too. It's always in a ponytail, because the rest of his head hair is shaved so that only that part is there anyway. He got the hair tie from Zoruark, who got it from Basch, who got it off a dead guy.
Also, the semen is human-like. Again bugs don't particularly have semen in the same sense as people, so I got to make it up. I've seen bug characters with all kinds of interesting juices, but I like this simple human-like kind. I actually don't really like cum at all, but...
I don't like this picture at all. Mostly because the human character's anatomy is totally broken. But I do like the way Roachie came out for the most part. BTW, this character has no real name or anything. I just kindof call him Roachie. Again, any name that you can call me, you can call Roachie, too. Of course you can't call me Roachie. I'm... humanie. Or something.
The human character is a whole 'nother story for another time :O
This was a commission for jade-scale on FA. Actually I never received payment for this, but the payment method was a bit strange -- we were exchanging some books for the art. He never asked me for my address to send the books or anything, and I'm uncomfortable saying anything about it, so he got a free art. I'm not really complaining, though, because it was fun to draw.
I focused a lot on drawing Jade, so Roachie is random and misproportioned (not that I have any set proportions for him yet) and takes a backseat in this image. Also note that all the focus I was doing on drawing Jade made me forget to draw the necktie .___.
Here's just two giftarts I've received that show this character :3 Well, I had to ask for them, but still :D
Anthropomorphic cockroach porn oh my! Now I've seen everything! :P I like the one with the hairy human riding the cockie cock - that stuff's right up my alley. ;)
